School Group Safaris

Conservation & Community Social Programmes

Meeting the requirements of the President’s award and serving as a residential project if the 3 night conservation programme is combined with the community development programme (5 nights).

Kwa Madwala has been developing school safaris and programmes with professionals in their field over the past few years and it is with great passion and enthusiasm that we operate these exciting conservation options specifically tailored for School groups.

Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve has packaged conservation and big game experiences for School groups in an environment which is truly spectacular.

Conservation, safari activities, adventure, pupils bonding and a little local culture is what it’s all about.

Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve has developed over the last 10 years as a unique provider and specialist of African Conservation Experiences in the “gap year” and volunteer markets. Options have been designed for those wanting to experience unique safari activities, time out in the African bush and value in terms of adding to young people’s lives.

Located between the Crocodile Bridge and Malelane gate entrance’s to the Kruger National Park this destination offers youngsters the best combination of spectacular safari based activities available in South Africa. Included are Elephant Back Safaris and interaction experiences, Horse Back Safaris, open 4 x 4 game drives, night drives and walking safaris. Various competitions form part of the experiences and include shooting with small caliber rifle (3 night experience), insect / reptile identification and a tracking / spoor identification course.

Programme’s are educational, highly varied and at times challenging but are guaranteed to be fun in a rustic bush environment. Participants can expect to expand their knowledge on large and small mammals, birds, spoor, insects, reptiles and Fauna and Flora.

Scholars are accommodated in rustic safari camps. The emphasis is on basics in the bush with most meals being prepared outside around an open fire assisted by the participants themselves. With reference to the 3 night experience one night is spent sleeping out under the stars.

Scholars work closely with qualified rangers, field guides and can expect to get their hands a little dirty.

Although experiences have been designed to cater for both high and primary school scholars, certain conditions apply to primary school scholars.
